Sanjay Kumar Appointed Next Petronet LNG CEO
Sanjay Kumar has been appointed as the next Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Petronet LNG Ltd, effective May 13, 2027. This decision was made by Petronet's board during a 15-minute meeting on October 2. Kumar will serve for five years.
Kumar is currently the Director (Marketing) at GAIL (India) Ltd and has over 35 years of experience in the natural gas and LNG value chain. He holds a mechanical engineering degree from IIT Kharagpur and an MBA.
Petronet LNG manages India's largest LNG import facilities, with a combined regasification capacity of 27.5 million tonnes per annum. The company fulfills about 34% of the nation's gas consumption and is advancing plans to increase its infrastructure, including expanding Dahej's regasification capacity.
