Sanjay Kumar to Succeed A K Singh as Petronet LNG CEO
Petronet LNG's Managing Director and CEO A K Singh will be succeeded by GAIL Director (Marketing) Sanjay Kumar on May 13, 2027. Kumar was appointed for a five-year term, following a brief 15-minute meeting of Petronet's board held on October 2.
Kumar has over 35 years of sector experience across the natural gas and LNG value chain. He brings a mechanical engineering background from IIT Kharagpur and an MBA to his new role. The superannuation age in public sector companies is 60 years, but Petronet's board executives enjoy higher remuneration and retire at 65.
Petronet LNG operates India's largest liquefied natural gas import terminal at Dahej in Gujarat, handling about 74% of the country's LNG imports. The company currently has 27.5 million tonnes a year (MMTPA) of regasification capacity and is expanding its infrastructure.
