Saudi Arabia Attacks Reignite Oil Market Concerns
Recent attacks on Saudi Arabia have reignited supply and geopolitical concerns in the oil market. According to OCBC's Christopher Wong, existing pipeline issues and disrupted Yanbu loadings underscore ongoing disruption risks.
The East-West pipeline is already damaged, and Yanbu loadings are disrupted, which may limit near-term downside in Brent and WTI prices unless Saudi flows normalize and attacks on energy infrastructure subside.
Despite the easing of supply concerns earlier this week, with Brent oil priced around US$105/bbl, the weekend's developments serve as a reminder that disruption risks remain.
