Saudi Arabia boosts East, West pipeline capacity to 5.8 million barrels per day
Saudi Arabia has successfully restored the operational capacity of its East, West pipeline, enabling it to transport 5.8 million barrels of oil per day. The announcement was made on October 6 by Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, the country's Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, during a panel discussion at the GCC 2026 forum in Manama, Bahrain.
The restoration process began in the morning, according to reports from Anadolu Agency, which cited Al Awsat. The East, West pipeline serves as a crucial route for Saudi Arabia's oil transportation, connecting production sites in the east with export ports on the Red Sea.
This development comes amidst disruptions in oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz, prompting Saudi Arabia to redirect oil to the port of Yanbu via this pipeline. The East, West pipeline has become a key alternative route to ensure the uninterrupted supply of crude oil.
