Saudi Arabia Condemns Iranian Attack on Oil Tanker in Strait of Hormuz

Saudi Arabia condemned an Iranian attack on one of its oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, which killed two Filipino sailors. The Sidr vessel was passing through the strait on Monday when it was involved in a security incident, according to Saudi shipping company Bahri.

The Kingdom's foreign ministry also denounced Iran's attacks on Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait, expressing full support and solidarity with the three countries in protecting their security and sovereignty. The statement called for an end to escalation and respect for international law and global energy supplies.

Saudi Arabia urged all parties to calm down, stop the escalation, and return to negotiations and peaceful solutions. Other countries in the region also condemned the attack on the Sidr, with the Kuwaiti foreign ministry calling it a 'heinous attack' and a 'grave violation' of international law.
