Saudi Arabia Delivers Reliable Oil Supplies Amid Regional Tensions
Saudi Arabia has maintained reliable oil supplies to global markets despite regional tensions and disruptions. According to the Ministry of Finance's 2027 Pre-Budget Statement, the Kingdom's crude oil supplies averaged around 7.9 million barrels per day from January to August 2026, down 14.1% compared to the same period in 2025.
The Ministry attributed the decline in oil supplies to geopolitical developments in the region and disruptions to maritime traffic. However, Saudi Arabia was able to maintain continuity and reliability of its oil supplies due to alternative export routes via the East-West Pipeline, which has been in place for over four decades.
Oil markets experienced heightened volatility during 2026, with Brent crude prices ranging between $64.6 and $103.7 per barrel. The average price of Brent crude was around $87 per barrel, up 23.9% from the same period in 2025.
