Saudi Arabia Demands Iraq Prevent Cross-Border Attacks
Saudi Arabia has called on Iraq to prevent its territory from being used as a launching point for attacks against the kingdom. In a statement, the Foreign Ministry condemned drone attacks launched by Iran-backed militias from Iraqi territory, describing them as 'reprehensible'. The ministry emphasized that the kingdom is determined to protect its security and sovereignty.
The statement came after Riyadh reported that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed several drones targeting oil facilities in the kingdom. While there was no immediate comment from Iraq, Saudi Arabia has stressed the need for the Iraqi government to take necessary measures to prevent its territory from being used for aggression.
