Saudi Arabia Reopens Partially Damaged East-West Oil Pipeline
Saudi Arabia has partially restored operations on its East-West oil pipeline after a drone attack disrupted exports. The pipeline, which connects the kingdom's fields to the port of Yanbu on the Red Sea coast, is currently operating at reduced capacity.
The pipeline was shut down on September 11 following the attack, but Saudi Aramco plans to gradually increase throughput to approximately 4 million barrels per day. This is a significant reduction from its designed capacity of 7 million barrels per day.
Estimates suggest that the pipeline will be able to reach 40% of its designed capacity within several days, with full restoration expected in six to eight weeks. Before the attack, around 4 million barrels of oil a day were transported through it to the port of Yanbu.
