Saudi Arabia Seeks Support from Turkey and Pakistan Amid Escalating Houthi Attacks

Saudi Arabia is seeking support from Turkey and Pakistan in its conflict with Yemen's Houthi group, following a series of attacks on Saudi targets.

The three countries will hold chief of staff talks to discuss ways to support the kingdom, under the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement signed last month.

Turkey's chief of general staff is set to travel to Saudi Arabia on Friday to attend the meeting, while Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan recently met with their Saudi counterpart in New York.

The Houthi group has escalated its attacks on Saudi Arabia since July, declaring a maritime blockade and seizing Yemen's entire Red Sea coast to stifle Saudi oil exports.
