Saudi Aramco Pipeline Attack Hits India's Crude Oil Supplies
Saudi Aramco has suspended crude oil supplies to Indian refiners until further notice due to an attack on its East-West pipeline. The disruption is expected to lead to higher costs for replacement oil imports.
Brent crude was trading at around $108 a barrel on Wednesday, and rising oil prices and freight costs could make those imports more expensive for Indian refiners.
Saudi Arabia has sold some spot cargoes to traders for potential delivery to Indian refiners. This move may help alleviate the immediate supply shortage but is unlikely to offset the long-term impact of the pipeline attack on Saudi Aramco's crude oil supplies to India.
