Saudi Chemical Exports Plummet 32%, Imports Decline Amid Global Market Shifts
Saudi Arabia's chemical exports declined by 32% year-over-year to SAR 4.55 billion in July 2026, according to data from the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT). This marks a significant drop compared to June 2026, where chemical exports fell by SAR 352.8 million or 7%. Chemical and related products comprised 19% of Saudi Arabia's non-oil exports in July.
The top importers of Saudi Arabia's chemical products were India, accounting for 39.3% of total imports with a value of SAR 1.785 billion, followed by the UAE at 10.6%. China and Djibouti also ranked among the top five importers.
In contrast to exports, Saudi Arabia's imports of chemical industry products and related goods reached SAR 6.41 billion in July, down 9% year-over-year. Chemical imports accounted for 9% of total imports of SAR 70 billion.
