Saudi East-West Pipeline Damaged in Drone Attack, Repair Timeline Unclear

Two key pumping stations along Saudi Arabia's East-West Pipeline were damaged in an attack last week, according to oil and security sources.

The pipeline, which spans over 1,200 kilometers across the Arabian Peninsula, has been a vital route for Middle Eastern oil exports since it was used as a backup during the Strait of Hormuz crisis six months ago.

Pumping stations eight and nine were damaged in the strike, with the pipeline temporarily shutting down on Friday after a drone attack coming from Iraq, according to Saudi officials.
