Saudi Forces Launch Artillery Strikes Along Yemen's Northern Border

The Houthi group in Yemen reported that Saudi forces launched artillery and missile strikes along the country's northern border, specifically targeting areas in the province of Saada. The Al-Masirah TV channel affiliated with the Houthis reported 'Saudi artillery fire' hitting the Al-Dhaher district in Saada, as well as heavy 'missile fire' striking the Bani Sayyah area in Razih, a border district in the same province.

No casualties were immediately reported, and there was no immediate comment from Saudi authorities. This incident comes after a day of escalating tensions between the Houthi group and Saudi Arabia, which includes a claimed drone attack on an Aramco facility in Najran by the Houthis as retaliation for what they alleged was an incursion into Saada's airspace.

The Houthi group has been targeting Saudi shipping and energy facilities since July 20, citing a Saudi blockade of Houthi-held areas. Yemen has been embroiled in conflict since late 2014 when the Houthis seized Sanaa and much of northern Yemen, prompting a Saudi-led coalition to intervene.
