Saudi Oil Pipeline Hit by Possible Attack: Satellite Data Indicates Smoke and Heat
Satellite imagery and NASA data have detected smoke and thermal activity along the route of Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline, sparking concerns about a possible attack on this key crude export route.
The Sentinel-3 satellite captured images showing a large black smoke plume over the desert between Medina and Mahd adh Dhahab, near the pipeline's general route.
NASA's Fire Information for Resource Management System (FIRMS) also recorded clustered thermal anomalies in the area.
