Saudi Oil Sites Attacked from Iraqi Territory Amid Lull in Fighting with Iran
Saudi Arabia's defense ministry reported intercepting drones launched by pro-Iran groups in Iraq on Monday, targeting oil infrastructure. The attacks come during a lull in fighting since Saturday, following 13 days of exchanges between the US and Iran.
The Saudi defense ministry stated that 'terrorist attempts were launched from Iraqi territory and carried out by Iranian-backed terrorist militias.' Drones targeted petroleum facilities in areas east of Riyadh, the capital city. Saudi Arabia demanded Iraq take measures to prevent attacks on its soil.
