Saudi Pipeline Closure Sends US Fuel Prices Soaring
Fuel prices in the US are expected to rise further as a critical Saudi pipeline remains closed following a drone strike. According to petroleum consultant Andrew Lipow, Saudi Arabia has few options left without access to the pipeline, which can move 7 million barrels of crude oil per day.
The national average gas price hit $4.46 on Friday, while diesel broke another record high of $6.44, according to AAA. California is experiencing the highest diesel prices in the nation, averaging $8.39, impacting not only Californians but also those relying on trucking and railroads.
A recent Fox News poll found that 61% of registered voters consider gas prices a major problem, a 13-point jump from two years ago. American households have paid an extra $460 on gas and $378 on diesel since the start of the Iran war.
