Saudi Pipeline Flows Resume After Drone Attack, Supplies Remain Under Pressure
Saudi Arabia has resumed crude oil flows through its East-West pipeline after repairs following a drone attack earlier this month. This move restores an alternative export route as disruptions continue to pressure global oil supplies.
Oil flows through the pipeline have reached around 3.5 million barrels per day, which is one of the East-West pipeline's available capacities for exports. The pipeline has a total capacity of about 7 million barrels per day, with roughly 5 million barrels per day typically available for exports.
The resumption provides some relief to buyers scrambling for supplies. Some European customers have been told they will not receive crude allocations next month under their long-term contracts.
