Saudi Pipeline Restart Fails to Boost Crude Prices Amid Easing Supply Disruptions
Saudi Arabia's efforts to restore its East-West pipeline have led to a decline in crude oil prices, which fell by 1.79% on October WTI crude oil (CLV26) today.
The pipeline disruption had caused concerns about global oil supplies, but US Energy Secretary Wright said that 18 million barrels of crude oil and refined products passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, easing supply concerns.
Saudi Arabia is seeking to return half the capacity of the East-West pipeline within days after a drone strike led to its shutdown last week.
