Saudi Pipeline Shutdown Cuts Off European Oil Supplies

Saudi Arabia's state oil company Aramco has informed at least some European refiners that they will receive no Saudi crude next month following a pipeline shutdown.

The East-West oil pipeline, which carries about 4 million to 5 million barrels of crude per day, was damaged in attacks on three pumping stations along its 1,200km route.

The disruption is expected to affect European countries that import Saudi oil, with the International Energy Agency reporting that these countries imported around 577,000 barrels per day from Saudi Arabia as of June.
