A Saudi oil tanker was involved in a security incident while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, resulting in the deaths of two Filipino sailors. The tanker, SIDR, reported the incident at around 11:40 pm local time (20:40 GMT) on Monday.

Bahri, Saudi Arabia's national shipping company, confirmed that the security incident occurred while the tanker was passing through the strategic waterway.

The company did not provide details about the nature or cause of the incident but stated that it remains in contact with the vessel and is coordinating closely with relevant authorities and maritime industry stakeholders.
