Scarborough Project Reaches Major Milestone with Final Module Delivery
The Scarborough Project is nearing its first LNG shipment in 2026 after receiving the final Pluto LNG module. The structure, weighing around 4,500 tons, was manufactured over two years in Thailand and took a highly complex logistical operation to relocate to Western Australia.
The delivery of the last module marks the end of a four-year process that included planning, manufacturing, and transportation. Woodside completed the transfer of the module, which will allow Pluto LNG Train 1 to adapt to processing gas from the Scarborough project. The modifications are essential for the development of the project.
The Scarborough Project is valued at approximately $12.5 million and remains on track to deliver its first LNG shipment in the fourth quarter of 2026. Woodside estimates that the project's resources could generate an amount of energy equivalent to the consumption of more than 8.5 million homes for over 30 years.
