Seatrium, Karpowership Complete Seven-Vessel FSRU Conversion Program

Seatrium Limited and Karpowership have completed their seven-vessel conversion program at Seatrium's Admiralty Yard, marking the naming and sailaway of LNGT Turkiye. The vessel is part of a fleet of Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs) designed to support Karpowership's integrated LNG-to-power value chain.

The program began in 2018 and involved converting seven LNG carriers into FSRUs, including LNGT Africa, LNGT Asia, LNGT Europe, LNGT Antarctica, LNGT Americas, LNGT Oceania, and LNGT Turkiye. The vessels will operate alongside Karpowership's global Powership fleet to supply feed gas to floating power plants.

Ersen Ayanoglu, Assistant General Manager for LNG Investments Global Shipbuilding at Karpowership, stated that the completion of the seventh FSRU conversion reflects the strength of the long-standing partnership with Seatrium. He added that the work at Admiralty Yard represented operational trust built by engineers and shipyard teams working together.

Alvin Gan, Executive Vice President for Repairs and Upgrades at Seatrium, noted that the program's completion reinforces Seatrium's position in FSRU conversions and offshore energy infrastructure solutions. He emphasized that Seatrium values Karpowership's continued trust and looks forward to expanding collaboration beyond FSRU projects.
