Seatrium Secures Ninth FSRU Conversion Project from Karpowership
Seatrium Limited has secured its ninth Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) conversion project from Karpowership, a Türkiye-based company. The project, named LNGT Akdeniz, is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027. This award strengthens the long-standing partnership between the two companies, which dates back to 2018.
The vessel will be part of Kinetics’ liquefied natural gas (LNG) fleet, supporting Karpowership’s energy transition initiative. Seatrium has already delivered seven FSRUs and is currently working on the eighth project, LNGT Karadeniz.
According to Alvin Gan, Executive Vice President of Repairs and Upgrades at Seatrium, the LNGT Akdeniz will have a regasification capacity of up to 600 million standard cubic feet per day. Seatrium’s scope of work includes engineering, conversion, integration, installation, and commissioning of regasification equipment and associated systems.
The LNGT Akdeniz project is the second to materialize under the letter of intent between the two companies, following the LNGT Karadeniz project. Upon completion, the FSRU vessel will enhance LNG import and regasification capabilities in its target market, supporting energy security and reliable energy supply.
