Sempra Infrastructure has signed a 20-year sales and purchase agreement with Petrobras to supply approximately 0.8 million tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The LNG will come from Sempra Infrastructure's contracted liquefaction capacity at the Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project, which is under construction in Jefferson County, Texas.

Sempra Infrastructure's chief executive, Justin Bird, described the agreement as a milestone for the company's LNG business and said it establishes a strategic relationship with a major energy company.
