Sempra Inc., a leading energy infrastructure company, has seen its stock price stabilize after announcing a major deal with Petrobras to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The agreement, which runs for 20 years, secures long-term demand for Sempra's Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project in Texas. Petrobras will receive approximately 0.8 million tonnes per annum of LNG from the contracted capacity.

Sempra Infrastructure, a subsidiary of Sempra Inc., announced the deal on September 14, 2026. The agreement marks the first long-term sales and purchase agreement with a South American company in Sempra's LNG portfolio.

The stock price, which had been trading at around $81.59 on the NYSE as of September 15, 2026, showed a modest gain to $81.20 on September 16, 2026, despite weaker US benchmarks. The agreement has helped support the stock around the low-80-dollar band.

From a credit perspective, Sempra Infrastructure Partners continues to carry an investment-grade rating of BBB, supporting funding for large projects like Port Arthur LNG Phase 2.
