Senate Advances Farm Bill 2.0 with Year-Round E15 Sales
The Senate Agriculture Committee has advanced the Agricultural Act of 2026, also known as Farm Bill 2.0, towards consideration by the full Senate. This legislation includes language allowing year-round E15 sales, a priority for corn growers. National Corn Growers Association President Jed Bower stated that every step forward brings them closer to their goal.
Bower described the current corn crop as the most expensive he has ever planted and harvested due to high input costs. He expects next year's costs could be even higher. Producers are looking for legislation that provides relief while increasing demand for agricultural commodities.
The inclusion of year-round E15 in the Farm Bill would matter significantly for corn growers, as it could increase corn demand. Bower pointed out potential benefits for consumers at the pump, saying 'E15, as you said, it definitely is going to help with gas prices for not only farmers, but consumers around the country.'
