Senate Farm Bill Includes Year-Round E15 Provision Amid Growing Demand for Ethanol

The U.S. Senate's updated Farm Bill text includes a key provision for year-round, nationwide access to E15, which is a welcome sight for Iowa's corn growers. According to Mark Mueller, president of the Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA), this progress will drive demand for American corn, lower prices at the pump for consumers, and strengthen national energy independence.

The inclusion of year-round E15 in the Senate draft is a result of years of efforts by Iowa's corn growers to champion nationwide access to higher blends of ethanol. Mueller noted that Iowa drivers have already capitalized on E15 savings, seeing an average savings of 15 cents per gallon for a combined savings of more than $60 million across the state in 2025.

The Senate draft also includes several other critical Iowa Corn priorities, such as the Fertilizer Transparency Act, which ICGA helped champion alongside Senator Chuck Grassley and Representative Ashley Hinson to bring fair pricing and oversight to farm inputs. Additionally, there is an increase in USDA's MAP and FMD funding for trade promotion specifically with partners from the U.S. Grains and BioProducts Council and U.S. Meat Export Federation.
