Sensex and Nifty Surge as Global Markets Rise and Crude Prices Ease
The Indian benchmark equity indices, Sensex and Nifty, experienced a significant rally on Friday, fueled by positive global market trends and easing crude oil prices. The 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 162.87 points to 74,483.56 in early trade, while the 50-share NSE Nifty was up 43.90 points to 23,315.25.
The gains were led by major Sensex gainers Bharti Airtel, Eternal, Larsen & Toubro, InterGlobe Aviation, HDFC Bank, and Adani Ports. However, some Tata Group stocks, including TCS, traded lower following a boardroom crisis at Tata Sons.
Despite the overall positive trend, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) remained net sellers, offloading equities worth Rs 3,208.76 crore on Thursday. Brent crude oil prices also contributed to the market rally, trading 0.93 per cent lower at $103.8 per barrel.
