The Indian stock market benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, staged a significant recovery to close higher on Tuesday. The rebound was driven by late-day buying and a notable drop in Brent crude oil prices below $90 per barrel.

Brent crude oil prices declined sharply by 3% to $89.32 per barrel, easing investor concerns. This relief in energy costs aided a moderately positive close today on the monthly expiry day, according to Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Investments Limited.

The Sensex gained 286.98 points (0.37%) to settle at 77,656.09, while the Nifty rose 115.50 points (0.48%) to 24,334.55. Among the 30 Sensex firms, InterGlobe Aviation, Adani Ports, Infosys, Trent, Titan, and State Bank of India were the major winners.
