Sensex, Nifty Plunge as Crude Oil Prices Soar, Geopolitical Tensions Rise
Indian stock markets plummeted on Monday amid surging crude oil prices and heightened geopolitical uncertainties. The Sensex fell by 730 points, while the Nifty dropped 231.50 points.
The market downturn was primarily attributed to Brent crude oil prices trading 2.27 per cent higher at $106.7 per barrel. Renewed concerns over prolonged oil supply disruptions have increased anxiety among investors.
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth Rs 3,693.93 crore on Friday, contributing to negative investor sentiment.
