Sensex Soars 2,034 Points as Crude Oil Prices Dip
The Indian stock market surged this week, with the Sensex rising by 2,034.87 points or 2.68% to close at 78,094.64.
This marks its biggest weekly gain in four months, since the week ended April 10.
The gains were largely driven by a decline in Brent crude oil prices, which fell 7% during the week to $89.95 a barrel.
According to Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Investments, 'the sharp decline in crude oil prices helped ease inflation concerns and lift market sentiment.'
The rally was also aided by gains in global markets, robust domestic corporate earnings, sustained foreign institutional investor buying, lower crude oil prices, and the appreciation of the rupee.
