The Indian stock market started the week on a positive note, with the Sensex jumping over 400 points and the Nifty holding above 23,360.

The easing of crude oil prices was seen as a key factor supporting sentiment in the market. Brent crude fell to USD 101 per barrel from Friday's settlement of USD 103.87 per barrel, while gold prices also eased, trading at around USD 4,367.88 at the same time.

Anindya Banerjee from Kotak Securities noted that Aramco has sold around 60 million barrels through the Strait of Hormuz for September and October loading, helping Gulf exports recover to 1-1.5 million barrels per day.
