Sensex Surges 299 Points Amid Easing Oil Prices and De-escalation Hopes
Indian stock markets rebounded on Wednesday as investors assessed signs of a possible de-escalation in the West Asia conflict and crude oil prices remained below USD 100 per barrel. The benchmark Sensex index climbed 299.17 points, or 0.40 percent, to settle at 74,828.25.
The Nifty was up 117.80 points, or 0.50 percent, to end at 23,446.80. Among the 30 Sensex firms, major winners included Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance, ITC, UltraTech Cement, Power Grid, and Larsen & Toubro.
Globally, Brent crude edged up 0.35 percent to USD 99.60 per barrel. Enrich Money's CEO Ponmudi R attributed the positive market sentiment to a combination of factors, including easing tensions in West Asia, softer oil prices, and stronger domestic growth expectations.
