Sensex Tanks 1247 Points Amid Crude Oil Price Spike
The Indian stock market experienced a sharp decline on Thursday, September 24, with the Sensex plummeting 1,247.71 points and the Nifty-50 falling to 23,063.10.
The slump was attributed to a spike in crude oil prices, which rose 2.36% to $105.4 per barrel. This increase in global oil benchmarks put pressure on investor sentiment, causing a selloff in the market.
The 30-share BSE Sensex tanked 1,247.71 points, or 1.67%, to settle at 73,580.54. Among the 30 Sensex firms, 29 ended lower, with Bajaj Finance dropping 5.47% and Axis Bank declining 4.67%. NTPC was the only firm that remained unchanged.
