Serbia's Wheat and Corn Production Rise Amid Agricultural Sector Growth

Serbia's agricultural sector has shown significant growth in wheat and corn production. According to preliminary data from the country's statistical office, as of September 5, Serbia's wheat production rose by 7.7% year-over-year (y/y) in 2026 to 4 million tons.

The increase was driven by a larger harvested area, which expanded to 652.9 thousand hectares from 607.1 thousand hectares the previous year. Average wheat yield remained unchanged at 6.1 tons per hectare.

Compared with the 2016-2025 average, this year's wheat output was 31.8% higher, indicating a strong result for the crop in the current season.
