Shell and MET Group have strengthened their cooperation in the liquefied natural gas market through a new multi-year agreement. The contract aims to increase supply flexibility and diversify the gas sources available to European customers.

Under the terms of the deal, Shell will supply LNG sourced from the United States to MET International, the trading and wholesale division of the Swiss energy company MET Group. This expansion is part of a broader strategy to combine different supply sources in response to market conditions.

MET Group's CEO, Huibert Vigeveno, highlighted the importance of having reliable access to US LNG in offering flexibility and value to European customers. He also noted that this strategy contributes to strengthening security of supply in Europe by incorporating new gas sources into its portfolio.
