Shell Posts Record Net Profit of $9.84 Billion Amid Global Oil Market Volatility
Shell reported a record-breaking $9.84 billion net profit for Q2 2026, more than doubling its earnings from the same period last year.
This surge in profitability is largely attributed to the volatility of global oil markets, which has driven up prices and delivered a windfall to Shell's trading desks.
The company's income attributable to shareholders reached $10.82 billion, with higher realized energy prices, stronger liquefied natural gas (LNG) trading, and improved chemicals margins contributing to the increase.
