Shell Surpasses Expectations with $9.84 Billion Q2 Earnings
Shell's adjusted earnings more than doubled to $9.84 billion in the second quarter, surpassing expectations as higher energy prices and market volatility during the Middle East conflict boosted its profits.
The British major's net profit was supported by increased sales of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and oil trading, as well as improved chemicals margins.
Analysts had predicted a net profit of $8.92 billion, but Shell exceeded this target with its strongest quarterly earnings since 2022, when Russia's invasion of Ukraine disrupted global energy markets.
