Shimla Jewellers Focus on Lightweight Designs Amid Elevated Gold Prices

Jewellers in Shimla are capitalizing on the growing demand for traditional, lightweight gold jewellery designs ahead of the festive and wedding season. The four-day exhibition at a hotel in Shimla features over 5,000 designs across various categories, including gold, diamond, polki, temple, and silver jewellery.

Akshay Verma of Verma Jewellers stated that while gold prices remain elevated, customers are increasingly seeking variety, quality, and transparency. He emphasized the importance of transparency, saying, 'Today the question is not only about the price. Customers want to know where they can find the best designs, whether they have to travel outside the state and, most importantly, whether they are getting the right quality.'

The exhibition showcases a wide variety of designs under one roof, including traditional yellow gold and other jewellery styles, designed with reduced weight while retaining their appearance and craftsmanship.
