Silver Crashes to ₹2.44 Lakh/kg Amid Global Market Volatility
Silver prices in India have been volatile lately, influenced by global factors such as crude oil prices, US Treasury yields, and the US dollar. On September 16th, 2026, silver crashed to ₹2.44 lakh/kg, despite a gain of 8.51% in August.
The price of domestic silver was ₹244.90/gram, ₹2,449/10 grams, and ₹2,44,900/kg, which is ₹0.10/gram lower than the previous quotation. The international benchmark spot silver traded at $63.41 per troy ounce on September 15th, while gold was trading at $4,293.29 per ounce.
Despite the volatility, many cities in India saw a premium in southern markets such as Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kerala, with HDFC SKY reporting ₹2,500 per 10 grams in those markets on September 15th.
