Silver Gains as Oil Prices Plummet Six Sessions Straight

Silver prices have risen above $67 an ounce as oil prices continue to decline. This marks the sixth consecutive session of falling oil prices, which has eased concerns over higher inflation and interest rates.

Oil prices are down due in part to President Donald Trump's statement that US officials had a good meeting with Iranian envoys. Tehran stated it could reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days if the US eases military pressure and lifts its blockade on Iranian ports.

The news also comes as Saudi Arabia plans to restore oil exports through its East-West pipeline in the coming days.
