Silver Price Slumps ₹50 Across Ten Indian Cities
The silver price in India has fallen by ₹50 across ten major cities, according to Goodreturns.in. On Thursday morning, the national average rate was ₹2,450 per 10 grams, which translates to ₹245 per gram and ₹2,45,000 per kilogram.
This decline marks a move away from Wednesday's flat session, when all ten cities held steady at ₹2,500 per 10 grams. The uniform drop affected Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Pune, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad, which fell to ₹2,450 per 10 grams from ₹2,500 previously.
The southern markets of Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kerala, however, eased to ₹2,500 per 10 grams from ₹2,550, retaining the ₹50 premium they carry over the rest of the country. The drop followed Wednesday's flat session, which saw no change in rates across all ten cities.
Retail buyers continue to view silver as a lower-cost entry point into precious metals, thanks to its smaller per-gram price compared to gold. Historically, silver has traded for a fraction of gold's price on a per-gram basis, and investors looking for exposure to the metal without storage or purity concerns can consider Silver ETFs.
