Silver Price Surges to ₹2.18 Lakh/kg as Gold Prices Reach ₹1.43 Lakh/10g
The prices of gold and silver have increased on August 3, according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). The price of one kilogram of silver has reached ₹2.18 lakh, a ₹105 increase from the previous day. The price of 10 grams of 24 carat gold has also increased by ₹3 to ₹1.43 lakh.
Gold prices have been on an upward trend this year, with the price per 10 grams increasing by ₹10,000 since January 31. Silver prices, however, have fallen by ₹12,000 over the same period. On December 31, 2025, gold was trading at ₹1.33 lakh per 10 grams, while silver was at ₹2.30 lakh per kilogram.
Commodity expert Ajay Kedia predicts that gold prices may reach ₹1.60 lakh by the end of the year, and silver prices may touch ₹2.80 lakh. Investors can invest in gold and silver through Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), which offer a way to buy and sell units based on the fluctuating prices of these metals.
