Silver Price Tumbles Amid Dollar Rebound Ahead of US Jobs Report
The silver price (XAG/USD) is facing renewed pressure as the US dollar rebounds ahead of the upcoming US jobs report. This has led to reduced demand for dollar-denominated silver, making it more expensive for foreign buyers.
According to market analysts, the recent rebound in the dollar reflects growing confidence that the Federal Reserve may maintain higher interest rates for longer. This typically dampens appeal for non-yielding assets like silver, which is often seen as a hedge against inflation and economic uncertainty.
The US jobs report, scheduled for release later this week, is expected to show continued strength in the labor market. Strong employment figures could reinforce the case for tighter monetary policy, further supporting the dollar and pressuring silver. Conversely, a weaker-than-expected report could trigger a pullback in the dollar and offer some relief to silver bulls.
From a technical perspective, silver is currently testing key support levels near $24.00 per ounce. A break below this level could open the door to further downside, with the next support zone around $23.50.
