Silver Prices Climb Amid Cooling Rate Hike Expectations

The price of silver continued its upward trend on August 11, driven by cooling rate hike expectations and buying support. In the spot market, however, higher silver prices led to a decrease in downstream demand, causing transactions to shift towards discounts.

The Shanghai Gold Exchange's 10:00 AM Ag(T+D) fixing was set at 16,144 yuan/kg, with premium/discount quotes ranging from TD-10 to +5 yuan/kg and an average of -2.5 yuan/kg.

Bullish factors currently dominate the precious metals market, with prices expected to maintain a fluctuating upward trend in the near term. Today's focus is on CPI data guidance, which will provide insight into whether it will further boost gold and silver prices.
