Silver Prices Fall Sharply Amid Dollar Strength and Trade Uncertainty
Silver prices have retreated from their January peak, with the metal currently trading at USD 64.28 per troy ounce on the COMEX exchange.
This represents a decline of roughly 47% from its 52-week high of USD 121.78 set on January 29, 2026.
The pullback is attributed to a combination of factors, including the strengthening US dollar and the upcoming visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Washington, which has heightened uncertainty over trade relations.
Market participants are also monitoring CME Group inventory figures, which show a shift in the composition of silver stocks held in COMEX warehouses.
