Silver Prices Plummet Amid US Interest Rate Uncertainty
Silver prices continued their downward trend on August 15, 2026, falling under selling pressure as investors remained cautious amid new signals regarding US interest rates.
The domestic silver price in Hanoi was listed at 2,296,000 VND/ounce (buying price) and 2,367,000 VND/ounce (selling price) at Phu Quy Gold, Silver and Gemstone Group. In Ho Chi Minh City, the silver price was 1,962,000 VND/ounce (buying price) and 2,029,000 VND/ounce (selling price).
The world silver price is currently quoted at $64.1 per ounce, a decrease of $1.47 per ounce from previous levels.
Precious metals analyst Christopher Lewis noted that the $65.50/ounce mark is considered a crucial threshold for silver prices. A convincing breakout above this level could strengthen the upward momentum, while increased selling pressure could cause a sharp decline in silver prices and potentially target the $60/ounce level as a significant support.
