Silver Prices Plummet in Bengaluru After January Peak

The silver market in Bengaluru has seen significant fluctuations over the past few months. In January 2026, the rate opened at ₹2,49,900 per KG and rose to a high of ₹4,21,100 before settling at ₹4,05,900 by month-end.

In February, prices fell back down to ₹2,95,900 after opening at ₹3,61,000. This trend continued in March with the rate falling to ₹2,55,900 from ₹3,06,000 on January 1st.

April and May saw further price drops, with April's rate closing at ₹2,61,000 and May's at ₹2,91,000. However, in June, prices rose back up to ₹2,44,900 before falling again in July to ₹2,39,900 by the 24th.

The purity of silver is typically expressed as fineness, with 999 fineness indicating 99.9% pure silver content. Different types of silver include fine silver (99.9%), sterling silver (92.5%), Britannia silver (95.8%), and coin silver (90%). When buying silver, the final price includes base price, making charges, and a 3% GST.
