Silver Prices Rebound with 2.13% Gain on Monday
Silver prices (XAG/USD) climbed on Monday, according to data from FXStreet. The metal was trading at $61.71 per troy ounce, marking a 2.13% increase from its $60.43 closing price on Friday. Despite this recent uptick, silver has still seen a significant 13.18% decline since the start of the year.
The Gold/Silver ratio, which measures how many ounces of silver are needed to equal the value of one ounce of gold, stood at 67.51 on Monday. This ratio had previously been at 68.57 on Friday, indicating a slight improvement in silver's relative value compared to gold.
Silver is a precious metal that investors often turn to for portfolio diversification, intrinsic value, or as a hedge against inflation. It can be purchased physically, in coins or bars, or traded through vehicles like Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs). Factors influencing silver prices include geopolitical instability, interest rates, the strength of the US Dollar, and industrial demand, particularly from sectors like electronics and solar energy.
Silver's price movements are also closely tied to gold, as both are considered safe-haven assets. The Gold/Silver ratio can help investors assess the relative valuation between the two metals, with a high ratio potentially indicating that silver is undervalued.
