Silver futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) declined sharply by Rs 836 to Rs 2,36,999 per kilogram on Thursday due to a sell-off by participants.

The September delivery contracts of silver fell by 0.35% in a business turnover of 857 lots.

Analysts pointed out that the main reason behind the decline was a sell-off by participants, which had a significant impact on silver prices.
